The officers and members of the Hartsville Fire Company are sad to announce the passing of retired Warminster police officer John Sparks. John was a close friend of the Hartsville Fire Company and father-in-law and grandfather to members Ken Moritz Sr. and Jr.

John spent a lifetime fulfilling children’s dreams over the Christmas holidays. Centennial School District children would wait anxiously for John to arrive at their school by either helicopter or by the Hartsville Fire Company’s antique fire truck. John and his wife accompanied the Hartsville Fire Company for many years during our annual Santa Run. John remained in character year round and left many special memories with those that were lucky enough to encounter him.
