Sprinkler activation in Ivyland Borough contains fire until fire companies arrive

Ivyland Fire Company was dispatch to the 800 block of Jacksonville Rd for a fire alarm around 4:15am Saturday morning. The call was upgraded to a commercial building fire when police arrived to find smoke in the building. Hartsville Fire Company, Northampton Fire Company, Southampton Fire Company, Warwick Township Fire Company and Hatboro Fire Company were added to the assignment.
Assistant 62(DeGideo) arrived and reported smoke in the building with a sprinkler activation. Assistant 62 and Chief 93(Gottschall) established Jacksonville Rd Command. Deputy 93(McDonald) located a small fire being kept in check by the sprinkler system in a second floor hair salon. Engine 62 and Squirt 93 arrived and extinguished the remainder of the fire with a water extinguisher. The Bucks County Fire Marshall's office responded to investigate the cause of the fire.
