The Hartsville Fire Company acknowledges the actions of Firefighter Chris England at the Saxony Manor Condos Fire. On April 28, 2009 at 1606 hours, box 93-57 was struck for an apartment fire in “H” building. Firefighter England, who lives in the complex, responded directly to the scene to render assistance. Knowing there was an elderly person living in one of the condo’s that were on fire; Firefighter England along with Firefighter Domrzalski entered the condo, passing by the fire, and found the resident still inside. Firefighters’ England and Domrzalski safely removed the resident out the rear door and to safety.
Firefighter Chris England has distinguished himself by performing in an outstanding manner under personal risk that involved bravery and a high degree of initiative.
Firefighter Kevin Domrzalski

The Hartsville Fire Company acknowledges the actions of Firefighter Kevin Domrzalski at the Saxony Manor Condos Fire. On April 28, 2009 at 1606 hours, box 93-57 was struck for an apartment fire in “H” building. Firefighter Domrzalski was passing by Saxony Manor and noticed a fire in front of the building that was growing. As Fire Companies were being dispatched, Firefighter Domrzalski went directly to the fire scene and started evacuating multiple residents from adjoining condo units that were in danger from this fast moving fire.
Firefighter Domrzalski, along with Firefighter England, entered another residence and safely removed an elderly resident out the rear door and to safety.
Firefighter Kevin Domrzalski has distinguished himself by performing in an outstanding manner under personal risk that involved bravery and a high degree of initiative.
Firefighter Mel Shapiro

The Hartsville Fire Company acknowledges the actions of Firefighter Mel Shapiro on October 3, 2009 on Street Rd, near Jacksonville Rd, Warminster. On this Sunday morning, Firefighter Shapiro was in the area of a serious auto accident with fire and entrapment. When Firefighter Shapiro arrived at the scene he moved the pedestrians away from the danger area, retrieved his personal extinguisher, and proceeded to knock down all visible fire in the vehicle with the trapped victims.
Mel was able to keep the fire in check until rescue companies arrived to extricate the patients.
Firefighter Shapiro has distinguished himself by performing in an outstanding manner under personal risk that involved bravery and a high degree of initiative.
LIFE SAVING AWARD
Lieutenant Lynn Kirkner

The Hartsville Fire Company acknowledges the actions of Lieutenant Lynn Kirkner for her response on June 23, 2009 to a residence on Lynda Lane, Warminster.
Lieutenant Kirkner was in the area of Lynda Lane and responded when she heard a 911 dispatch for a cardiac arrest. Lieutenant Kirkner arrived on scene to find an unconscious patient lying next to the bed. Lieutenant Kirkner repositioned the patient, cleared an airway, and started CPR. Lieutenant Kirkner continued CPR until EMS arrived and took over operations. Lieutenant Kirkner’s quick actions along with EMS were able to successfully resuscitate the patient.
The Hartsville Fire Company also recognizes that this is Lieutenant Lynn Kirkner’s second successful resuscitation and saving of a resident’s life.
